Data released by Kazakhstan's Statistics Service on Monday showed that refined copper production reached 394,914 tons in the first ten months of this year, a 2.2% increase compared to the same period last year. October's refined copper production was 39,609 tons, a 4% increase from September's 38,083 tons and a 12.9% increase year-on-year. Copper miners KAZ Minerals and Glencore's Kazzinc accounted for the majority of the country's metal production. The Statistics Service stated that refined zinc production in October was 20,475 tons, a 1.5% increase from September's 20,181 tons. Refined zinc production for the first ten months of this year totaled 214,334 tons, a 3.7% decrease year-on-year. Alumina and unwrought aluminum production in October was 143,051 tons, a 3.2% decrease from September's 147,782 tons. Cumulative production for the first ten months of this year reached 1,488,363 tons, a 1.2% decrease year-on-year. October crude steel production was 350,515 tons, a 22.7% increase from September's 285,776 tons. Cumulative production for the first ten months of the year reached 3,437,542 tons, a 0.1% year-on-year decrease. October refined gold production was 4,912 kg, a 7.7% decrease month-on-month but a 13% increase year-on-year; cumulative production for the first ten months of the year was 58,459 kg, a 1.6% year-on-year increase. October refined silver production was 50,471 kg, a 7.4% increase month-on-month but a 1.6% decrease year-on-year; cumulative production for the first ten months of the year reached 510,869 kg, a 12.8% year-on-year decrease.
